Today’s mini marketing interview features Adam Allen from Brodart.
In case you’re new here, our mini marketing interviews feature various Marketers with different areas of expertise. So even if today’s interview isn’t relevant to you, the next one might be.
1. Can you give me a very brief bio about yourself and your company?
I am Director of Sales and Marketing at Brodart. Brodart provides Libraries with an assortment of products and services. Since 1939, libraries have been able to turn to Brodart for everything from shelf-ready books to electronic ordering systems, high quality furniture and supplies. From humble beginnings, Brodart has grown to become an international company, serving libraries from the Northwest Territories to the Pacific Rim, with facilities in the United States and Canada. Brodart truly has evolved into a full-service library company.
2. What is your marketing expertise?
If I had to list just one, I guess it would be ecommerce marketing
3. Regarding your expertise, if you had to choose one tip to share, what would it be?
Never rest on your laurels. If you aren’t looking forward, testing and implementing new developments in your company, you will find yourself chasing your competitors.
4. What do you think the future of direct marketing is?
I think the future of direct marketing will become much more digitally integrated. In the not too distant past, the extent of print direct mail’s role in driving consumers online was a simple URL; today, the use of digital integration can be seen through the use of PURLs, QR codes and augmented reality.
Print will continue to be a strong aspect of the media mix, but the implementation is going to change as technology allows marketers to connect and communicate with consumers in more convenient and integrated manners.
5. If you use direct mail, what is working for you right now?
While we continuously test mail formats, our predominant direct mail efforts are still in catalogs.
