Ballantine
develops Internet-based Print Production Software
Wayne, NJ (April 20, 2005) -- The Ballantine Corporation,
a direct mail production agency, has developed an Internet-based
print production software to benefit both their production
coordinators as well as their clients. There
were two main purposes behind creating the production software.
First, it streamlines the production coordinator’s workload,
enabling them to spend more time servicing their accounts. Second,
it gives clients easy online access to their work in progress
as well as all their pricing. All
documents that were normally faxed, such as RFQ’s to vendors
and quotes to customers, are now done via the Internet. In addition,
users have the ability to send schedule update requests to all
vendors that have work in progress with the click of a button. Clients
have the option to log in to their personalized website to see
the status of all their jobs in progress and review all their
quotes both past and present. In addition, all quotations are
delivered to clients via the Internet. Will
employing this type of Internet-based production software be
common practice among all direct mail production agencies in
the near future? “We believe so. We saw the opportunity
to utilize the Internet to benefit both our employees and clients
and jumped on it. We don’t intend to sell licenses, but
feel our software shows the value-added potential of using the
Internet to run our business more effectively and dramatically
increase the level of service we can provide to our clients,” says
Tom Coté, President of The Ballantine Corporation.
