DMA09 Conference Recap

We’re back from the DMA09 conference in San Diego, CA. Here’s a picture of us at our booth:

Expectations

We went to the show with very low expectations because of the economy and travel budgets being cut. But we left happy because the energy in the exhibit hall was very active and we met a lot of nice people (if you were one of them, HELLO!).

Attendance

Was attendance noticeably down? Yes, but we knew it would be. There were still plenty of Marketers, however, walking the floor and attending the sessions. In regards to the exhibit hall, Sunday was dead, Monday was booming and Tuesday was decent.

Even a decent day is positive for us because we tend to be politely aggressive in getting people to stop by our booth. That’s why we’re there afterall — to meet potential new clients we can help.

Sessions

We only attended 1 session, but it was packed. And judging from the flurry of attendees visiting the surrounding sessions, I would speculate this was the trend.

Entertainment

As far as entertainment is concerned, if you’ve never been to San Diego you should go. The Gaslamp District was fun. Good nightlife and plenty of great restaurants. And the weather? Low 70′s and mostly sunny all 4 days.
